Mediation & Conflict Coaching

Where there’s conflict, there’s often chaos. But facing it constructively opens space for growth and change.

What do I mean by MEDIATION?

Conflicts bring tensions to the surface — and in that lies an opportunity: they reveal what needs to be addressed. The key is the ability of those involved to handle the situation constructively. This means maintaining self-regulation during conflict and being aware of one’s own goals, emotions, needs, and values.

When conflicts escalate, they often trigger stress responses and lead into a spiral of unconscious, destructive patterns — affecting individuals, teams, and entire organizations.

In a mediative process, a coach or mediator — acting as an independent, neutral, and impartial third party — can foster communication between conflicting parties and help them take responsibility for finding solutions that work for everyone.

Systemic mediation goes one step further: it not only looks at the people involved but also considers team dynamics and the broader organizational context.

HOW TO KEEP CALM IN CONFCLICT
SITUATIONS

Interview with Rikke Klitskov - Co Director Founder Institute Germany

Workplace conflicts can be highly distressing. They affect personal well-being, mental health, and can have a serious impact on motivation and performance.

As a mediator, I help people regain self-regulation and their ability to act, reconnect with their own resources, and feel grounded again. In a safe and confidential space, they can explore their emotions and needs and reflect on their own conflict behavior. From there, we develop concrete action strategies and, if needed, prepare for challenging conversations with the other party.

In a mediative process, conflicting parties are supported in taking responsibility and working toward sustainable solutions that everyone can stand behind.

Team Mediation

Where people work together, human dynamics are inevitable — and so are conflicts. Things become challenging when a team’s culture doesn’t allow tensions to be addressed constructively. Unresolved conflicts can become major stress factors in the workplace.

A focused and professional mediation helps teams in complex or difficult situations gain clarity about next steps. Tensions are brought to light, emotions can be expressed, and resources within the team are unlocked to create solution-oriented perspectives.

Having an external facilitator steer the process avoids role conflicts (for example, within leadership) and makes it possible to address sensitive issues openly. The goal isn’t for everyone to become best friends — it’s simply to make the team functional and ready to work together again.
