KAOS stands for Katrin Ostermeier — and for chaos as a source of possibility and potential. As a mediator, I support individuals and teams in restoring self-regulation and their capacity to act. I help people reconnect with their inner resources, regain clarity, and feel grounded again — even in challenging situations.
Workplace conflicts can be deeply stressful. They affect personal well-being and mental health and often have a negative impact on motivation, collaboration, and performance. When conflicts escalate, they can trigger stress responses and lead to unconscious, destructive patterns — for individuals, teams, and entire organizations.
Where there is conflict, there is often chaos. As a mediator, I encourage people to look closely and work with conflict constructively. This creates space for growth, learning, and sustainable development.
I work from coaching spaces in Munich, on-site with my clients, and also offer online sessions.
Conflicts bring underlying tensions to the surface — and this is precisely where the opportunity lies: they make visible what needs attention and resolution. The key requirement is that those involved are able to engage with the situation constructively. This includes maintaining self-regulation in moments of conflict and being aware of one’s own goals, emotions, needs, and values.
Within a mediative process, a coach or mediator acts as an independent third party — neutral and impartial — to facilitate communication between the parties in conflict. The aim is to empower those involved to develop solutions independently that are sustainable and acceptable to all.
I also support individuals and leaders in strengthening their conflict competence and in navigating concrete conflict situations. The protected space of coaching allows for reflection on one’s own emotions and needs, as well as on personal patterns of behavior in conflict.

For me, chaos isn’t a threat — it’s a powerful source of energy. It sparks movement, uncovers hidden talents, and inspires new ideas. The true art is finding a sensible balance between chaos and order — staying flexible, curious, and forward-looking.
Chaos simply means a state of confusion and lack of order — the opposite of cosmos, or harmony. KAOS stands for both: the ability to bring order into chaos and build new structures, and the courage to shake up old patterns so fresh perspectives and new connections can emerge.Especially in times of change, it’s about trusting your own strengths and shaping transformation consciously. That also means letting go — of systems, structures, and sometimes long-held beliefs.
As a mediator, I support my clients in looking at conflict with courage and addressing it constructively — creating space for growth and development.
